Clear Creek County’s new 12,732-square-foot Idaho Springs Collaborative Care Clinic will replace a much smaller facility, providing new and expanded healthcare services.
IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo., and THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Nov. 4, 2020 – The Woodlands-based Pisula Development Company, the City of Idaho Springs and Clear Creek County broke ground Oct. 16 for the new $7.5 million, two-story, 12,732-square-foot Idaho Springs Collaborative Care Clinic.
Jim Pisula, Pisula Development Company’s Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer, said the new clinic will replace the only other healthcare facility in the county – a small 1,200-square-foot medical office building.
“Idaho Springs Collaborative Care Clinic is designed to provide much-needed medical services to Clear Creek County residents,” says Mr. Pisula. “The new, much larger facility will enable the county to substantially increase its healthcare services and serve more patients, as well as consolidate all physical, mental health and behavioral services and specialties in one convenient location.”
In addition to the county, the new clinic will house outpatient services provided by St. Anthony Hospital. The hospital, located about 30 miles to the east, is a unit of Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health, the region’s largest healthcare network.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Michael Hillman, Mayor of Idaho Springs, said, “This project will help strengthen our community, both economically and in healthcare. It will eliminate the need to travel down the hill to get our primary care and will help encourage new families to move to the community by providing easy-to-get healthcare. It is great for the future of our community and the future of Idaho Springs.”
County Commissioner Randall Wheelock added, “We are showing ourselves and the world how much we care about ourselves by putting in our community a facility which will change our lives for generations to come.”
The new clinic, which will be owned by the county, will be located in an Idaho Springs neighborhood that is conveniently accessible to a grocery store, downtown shops, restaurants, a post office, Idaho Springs Library, Carlson Elementary School and Clear Creek Recreation Center. The clinic is being designed to mirror Idaho Springs’ historic downtown, and the project will include new sidewalks that are compliant with Americans with Disability Act regulations.
The project has received grants and funding from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, the Colorado Health Foundation, El Pomar Foundation and Freeport McMoRan, which operates Henderson Mine.
The architect for the project is TreanorHL of Lawrence, Kan.; the general contractor is Thorton, Colo.-based Alliance Construction Solutions; and the property manager will be RRC Medical Real Estate, Pisula Development’s parent company, which is headquartered in The Woodlands. The clinic is scheduled to be completed in summer/fall 2021.
